I was born and raised a Catholic, went Methodist in adult life, left Methodist when they went left.
Because I was raised Catholic I think I may burn in hell for saying this, but, this guy is a communist.
How did they get Benedict, a good pope imho, to step down so this guy could be put in as Pope?
Popes don’t step down in my experience, I think it’s been 500 years since it happened.
Pope Benedict was the best!! Honorable, right on the money theological, fearless. I miss him so. I think the job is huge; he was the right-hand man for Pope John Paul II but I suspect he didn’t have a right-hand man at his side. Pope Francis will be gone soon enough, and it’ll be a rough ride, but the church will continue. I think he is a communist, too. We are Catholic converts - will never leave the church we love, but we will not embrace this Pope’s pronouncements.
It is astonishing that our Pope Francis was elected, finally, but also was beaten out in the last election only by Benedict.
To me this means “they” have been interested in Francis for some time, and have been able to put him forward until he was at last elected. Why Berglio? Why from South America especially?
Cardinals were available from all over the world, some with a classical education, and surely some theologians in line more with dear Benedict. So, why the radical diversion from Benedict? I just don’t understand this man, nor those who chose to elect him. It’s heartbreaking, but we are aware the enemy stirs where God is and he has done so, from the beginning.
