“You may be asking yourselves: Who is this man standing before us?’” the Pope reflected with prisoners during his July 10 visit to Bolivia’s Palmasola Rehabilitation Center in Santa Cruz de la Sierra.

“I would like to reply to that question with something absolutely certain about my own life. The man standing before you is a man who has experienced forgiveness. A man who was, and is, saved from his many sins. That is who I am.

If the above is not a sin of presumption, I don't know what is. If Humble Jorge is already saved why does he grovel for prayers from heretics and non-Christians?

As humble as he may think he’s being, he is an ignoramus when it comes to economics.

Well, he remembered them, and visited them. It would have more comfortable and less awkward to just pass the inmates by, but he didn’t.

I wonder if the Pontiff was chewing coca leaves when he made that statement? Some say chewing those leaves is the common way to deal with altitude sickness by visitors.

Remember that Francis is probably a socialist and doesn’t really think doctrine or even faith is all that important to begin with. It’s not a huge stretch to go for assurance— but I wouldn’t accuse him of being a Protestant, because assurance for us is a doctrine, while he probably just wings it and says whatever sounds nicest.

IOW, "Yeah, I've made it". Is the Pope Catholic? Because he sure talks like someone who rejects Catholicism.

Te Absolvo, I mean.

Sins are forgiven by Obama and Francis, so we should just let you out and you can go about your business.

You know, at first, I didn’t see this comment that way. And I think if this were a true Catholic pope, I wouldn’t give it a second thought thinking he didn’t mean it in a protestant way. But, given who we are dealing with here, I think your concern is valid.
