Papal Silence: The Most Decisive Factor in Ireland's Same-Sex "Marriage" Victory
Catholic Family News ^ | 5/27/15 | Robert Mauro

The most decisive factor in Ireland's support for "gay marriage'" was the failure of Pope Francis to publicly oppose " gay marriage " prior to the vote. The Pope speaks almost every day on trivial subjects such as his not watching television but when the date the of Irish referendum was first set, and up to the actual days before the election he should have publicly opposed "gay marriage" in Ireland.

The recent post-election comments of Vatican Secretary of State that the Pope was " saddened" by the Irish vote mean nothing. The Pope could have prevented the passage of the Irish Referendum by speaking out early and often against " gay marriage. "

The Pope's verbal opposition to "gay marriage" was needed to overcome the financial support for "gay marriage " in Ireland by companies such Google and Twitter and others and the support of " gay marriage" by all of the major political parties in Ireland. His verbal opposition was needed to strengthen the Irish Catholic clergy – Bishops and priests – to strongly speak out against "gay marriage." Nearly half of the Irish Association of Catholic priests reportedly favored " gay marriage." Various priests and Bishops said the people should be guided by their "consciences ."

It is said that several other nations in Europe which have not so far adopted "gay marriage" may be encouraged by the Irish vote and may try to adopt "gay marriage." If such attempts are made and the Pope does not immediately and frequently oppose their actions to legalize " gay marriage, " in these nations, Catholics must respectfully urge the Pope to resign his office.

What really happened in Ireland's "gay marriage" election: Massive US-funded “gay" blitzkrieg as never seen before. Are other countries next?

"...Can this be stopped in the future?

There is talk about Italy being their next “gay marriage” target. They are also eyeing some of the African countries that have been holding out on “LGBT rights”..."

There's no guarantee he could have stopped it, but he should have tried.

Oh sure. Blame the Pope for what is obviously the fault of the Irish electorate and the teachers and media that have brainwashed them.

The leadership made a decision to allow this vote to happen as it did, in Catholic Ireland.

It is the same as they do in the United States, where Catholics are devoted to the pro-gay democrat party.

Remember how they treat pro-abortion democrat politics in America while the average non-Catholic would assume that Catholics are pro-life republicans?

This silence is indeed surprising, especially considering that Cardinal Bergoglio was very bold and forceful in speaking out against similar same-sex "marriage" (sic) laws in his own country of Argentina:

... the Archbishop of Buenos Aires and Primate of Argentina, has said that if a proposed bill giving same-sex couples the opportunity to marry and adopt children should be approved, it will “seriously damage the family.”

Cardinal Bergoglio continued: “Let us not be naive: this is not simply a political struggle, but it is an attempt to destroy God’s plan. It is not just a bill (a mere instrument) but a ‘move’ of the father of lies who seeks to confuse and deceive the children of God.”

It is similar to conservative politicians in the United States; when they are elected on conservative principles they somehow either forget or “grow” in office, sometimes overnight. It’s amazing.

Definitely there is a narrative emerging about the gazillion$ being spent to buy the Church right into collapse.

The money is one symptom of the Church long being under attack, by Satan, from within and without. The outcome, we already know well.

The cause is the unbelief of those in high places who are attempting mightily to spreading unbelief among the whole Church. We are obligated to avoid them like the plague.

Could the same argument be made about Pope Pius XII signing the 1933 Reichskonkordat?

I don’t think it would have made a difference in this particular case. A few years ago, if it were someone with the standing of Pope JPII, perhaps the Pope could have indeed weighed in and made a difference.

I think the voters in Ireland were determined to vote against the Church position on this issue no matter what.

In the wake of so many sexual scandals inside the Church itself, many people are simply turned off. People don’t like being told what to do from an organization which doesn’t practice what it preaches. Just like people don’t being lectured by the likes of Algore and Leonardo Di Caprio on carbon footprints when they fly around in private jets, live in palatial mansions, and are chauffeured around in private limousines.

The Catholic Church has lost a lot of credibility in recent years and I think needs to really clean its own house before people will start taking it seriously again. The sexual abuse scandal was much more than just a few a bad apples that slipped through the cracks.

Sounds exactly like the Republican Party "strategy" in America.

Well, heck. I just heard a story on EWTN from a reporter in Italy who covers the Vatican that it’s now thought the Pope will deliver a more innocuous statement on Climate.

Seems Pope Francis has had his light bulb turned on, to a point that he will meet his deadline for his little opus alright, but, because he has been recently and otherwise informed, he is rewriting some of it, reportedly, and paraphrased by me— lest he go over the side and be made to look foolish and gullible in the VERY, very near future.

We shall see, with bated breath, on that day. :)

May God be with you.

OH, Praise God, I pray you’re right!
I’ve been fretting that he would be “Francis the talking mule.”
Our good Lord is listening and answering our prayers. (Of course). It’s of no wonder to me, how often He comes through when we pray! Francis would be so out of his realm, yapping about “climate change.” ‘Useful idiot’ comes to mind and I’d hate for him to be put in that position when in fact, this entire climate change is a hoax and a Ponzi scheme.
