Iraqi Nun Finally Granted Visa to Come to US and Advocate for Persecuted Back Home

State Department apparently reverses course on controversial decision.

The Iraqi nun who was denied entry to the United States because, apparently, the State Department feared she would illiciltly overstay her visa has finally been granted one.

Dominican Sister Diana Momeka will be joining a delegation that includes Yazidi and Turkmen Shia in mid-May.

Nina Shea, a religious freedom advocate with the Hudson Institute, confirmed to National Review that Sister Diana will receive a visa.

The nun is expected to testify before a House Foreign Affairs subcommittee, Nicholas Frankovich reported. Other details of her itinerary have not yet been set:

Last week, American advocates for Middle Eastern Christians loudly objected when they learned that the U.S. consulate in Erbil had denied her visa application for reasons that did not add up. She had been invited to testify before congressional hearings in both the House and the Senate and had arranged to meet with representatives of several NGOs in the United States.

Sister Diana, who has worked among the internally displaced persons in the northern Iraqi city of Erbil since the advance of the Islamic State group last summer forced tens of thousands of Christians out of their homes, was invited by the Institute for Global Engagement and former congressman Frank Wolf’s 21st Century Wilberforce Initiative. The delegation will also be meeting with officials at the State Department, and USAID.

Without sarcasm: Thank God that someone in the State Department listened to the Holy Spirit’s guidance on this.

She might overstay her visa, says the State?

I'm not saying she would, but if she were to, would not a most primary consideration be to avoid being raped and/or beheaded by the so-called Islamic State?

That's not a remote possibility, but is instead, not only a real danger, but given enough time (if no one stops/destroys the Islamo-savages) would be near entirely inevitable.

I realize this is preaching to the choir, but why allow or even invite Syrian Muslims into this nation, while blocking out Christians from Syria, and Iraq, who are in real & actual imminent danger?

Ah, the State Department must not have wanted a pesky little nun around who just mind remind people of things they don't want people to think about.

The past delay helps give her a platform. I do hope that she can find just the right people to assist her in telling people here just what is going on.

How about;
Times, Newsweek (ok, those are lousy magazines, but get her into those too) on air (Outfront) with Erin Burnett, interviews with NY Times, Washington Post, LA Times, etc.

And then have them tell us all again how wrong Pamela Geller is...

Then it is agreed.

We all pray that the nun gets media coverage beyond the House Foreign affairs sub-committee.

Pray that the Lord gives her and those with traveling her, just the right words to say, at just the right times and place...and that the coverage be then widespread.

Who can so no to, or else ignore a young nun such as herself?

She's just the right kind of person to get it through liberal dhimmi heads, that Islam, the religion itself is primary source of a large & significant problem.

Islam is not an effective, viable answer to the problem of sin, and offense to God, that it purports itself to be...
