Powerful winds are blowing through St. Peter’s Square, setting up the perfect storm. Indeed, the climate is drastically changing in Vatican City as the world awaits Pope Francis’ environment encyclical. Behind the scenes of St. Peter’s, forces are at play to create a very problematic document influenced, and partly written, by rabid opponents of Catholic moral teaching.. As the keynote speaker at the final Pontifical environmental conference, UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon said climate change is the “defining issue of our times” and that it is “important faith groups are in harmony with this issue.” Moon said he was “very encouraged” that Pope Francis is “very committed” to the issue and he said the Holy Father had assured Ban that he would cooperate “with the U.N. and world leaders, scientists and faith leaders to have this realized for humanity.”

Why is the Vatican joining forces with the United Nations, whose mission is to reduce carbon emissions by reducing people through abortion, sterilization and other ‘reproductive measures?

Bad enough that the Vatican is welcoming the UN with open arms, but there is another disturbing ally in this troubling environmental triumvirate.

The red storm flag warnings were hoisted over St. Peter’s when the Obama Administration’s EPA Secretary, Gina McCarthy visited the Vatican to coordinate the Obama environmental agenda with the upcoming papal environment encyclical. Upon her arrival at the Vatican, McCarthy acknowledged that the Obama administration is “aligned with Francis on climate change.” That sentiment is profoundly disquieting to many Catholics who view the Obama administration as the most virulent anti-Catholic presidency, as Catholic organizations, businesses, and universities are forced to sue the administration for imposing radical anti-Catholic edicts under the HHS mandates.

Referring to the next U.N. Climate Change Conference, to be held in Paris December, 2015 McCarthy said: "Clearly, the pope wants actions and he wants real commitments and we do as well and we're providing them," she said. This curious environmental ‘alignment’ between the papacy and the Obama administration should awaken Catholics to the political agenda of the leftist environmental lobby, led by McCarthy and her environmental edicts. The thought that the Obama administration is providing shared solutions to the Vatican should send lightning bolts through faithful Catholics.

Shouldn’t the Vatican promote a Catholic agenda rather than a global political agenda driven by the UN and the Obama Administration?

Population Control Promoters

As a prelude to the release of the environmental encyclical, the final pontifical environmental conference was held on April 29, 2015. UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon gave a keynote address and the UN Sustainable Development czar, Jeffrey Sachs, presented his sustainable development goals. Shockingly, Sachs is a frequent presenter and adviser at the pontifical academia, promoting the UN agenda of sustainable development goals as the solution for the world climate and poverty crisis. Jeffrey Sachs unequivocally states in his book, The End of Poverty,

Here is the demographic trap in vivid perspective: the poorest places, may with the greatest obstacles to modern economic growth, are also the places where families have the most number of children. High population growth leads to deeper poverty, and deeper poverty contributes to high fertility rates.

The experts relied upon by the Vatican to consult and advise on the environmental encyclical are long-time UN population control leaders and activists. Tim Wirth, former Clinton State Department population control chief who proudly displayed a tree made of condoms in his office, was among the Vatican’s invited guests.

Overpopulation has long been the environment’s enemy, according to the UN. Sachs, as Director of the UN Sustainable Development Goals Network spends his career sounding the alarm that the world is overpopulated, and fertility rates must be lowered. In fact, Sachs claims that “we are bursting at the seams.” The focus of Sachs’ overpopulation mantra is primarily the continent of Africa. He argues that if only poor African countries would just lower their fertility rate, the world and Africa would thrive economically.

And so, what does the Vatican’s expert propose for one of Africa’s largest Catholic countries? Jeffrey Sachs, the white man from the academic ivory tower elite advises, “I am really scared about population explosion in Nigeria. It is not healthy. Nigeria should work towards attaining a maximum of 3 children per family.”

One wonders what the Catholics—Bishops and Cardinals of Nigeria—think of Sachs’ 3 child policy.

The scare tactics of overpopulation, debunked by reality, morph into the strategy of catastrophic global warming, debunked by science, morph into climate change, debunked by science, morph into the new environmental religion of “sustainable development.”

Enter the moral leader of the world, Pope Francis, who aligns with the UN and Sachs to promote Sustainable Development goals.

This environmental partnership is so very troubling because forever embedded into the bureaucratic culture and sustainable development goals of the UN are the desired weapons of choice, reproductive rights and abortion on demand to reduce poverty and the environmental damage of overpopulation. In his 2015 newly published book (named, what else) Sustainable Development, Jeffrey Sachs, the pontifical advisor, describes the goal of sustainable development:

Reducing the fertility rates voluntarily while respecting human rights and family desires, is therefore essential to sustainable development and the end of poverty. The world’s governments have enshrined sexual and reproductive rights as core human rights for women, yet often these rights are not realized because countries are too poor to implement programs for safe pregnancy and family planning, or sometimes because governments do not implement the programs they have been committed to provide.

Under the rubric of Sustainable Development Goals, the United Nations, in conjunction with the Obama Administration, has co-opted the Vatican to embrace a global environmental agenda which at its core promotes actions which are antithetical to Catholic moral teaching. The UN eagerly awaits the Papal Environmental Encyclical as its moral justification for imposing the Sustainable Development Goals on the world.

A word of caution to the Catholics: the code word, ‘choice’ transformed into ‘reproductive health’ which has now emerged into ‘sustainable development.’ Here is the incontrovertible moral dilemma for the Catholic Church, with Jeffrey Sachs advocating the reduction of the global population as central and critical to the success of Sustainable Development:

Population dynamics are very important for sustainable development. There is also good reason to believe that lower fertility rates would be the truly preferred choice of most households if they have affordable and convenient access to family planning.

When Jeffrey Sachs, the papal environmental advisor, was asked by a reporter about his radical 20-year history of supporting population control through abortion and other reproductive rights service, Sachs cleverly avoided the answer by stating, “It really isn’t the essential issue here; that’s a topic for a different day.”

He sounds like Nancy Pelosi, when she said, "we have to pass the Obamacare, so that you can find out what is in it.”

Correction, Professor Sachs, the dignity of each human life—born and unborn—is the essential issue in the Catholic Church. Your duplicitous and dismissive disdain for the protection of human life exposes the real agenda of UN Sustainable Development policies.

Sachs is coy about population control when he is at the Vatican, but boldly proclaims it in his many books and speeches. In order for sustainable development goals to succeed, the population must be reduced, by any and all means available. The encyclical will be silent on the hidden UN agenda. Make no mistake that the UN and Obama will use the encyclical to promote sustainable development goals.

It’s incomprehensible that the Vatican would be duped into thinking that the United Nations’ Sustainable Development goals share common solutions for the world’s environmental problems. The Catholic Church welcomes children as a gift from God. The UN Secretary General and Jeffrey Sachs want to limit children.

The “green” Pope should turn red in the face, not from the climate, but from his embarrassingly unholy alliance.

Kicking the UN out of the US and the US out of the UN is the issue of this Century.

Why, you ask?

"In the face of the unrelenting growth of global interdependence, there is a strongly felt need, even in the midst of a global recession, for a reform of the United Nations Organization, and likewise of economic institutions and international finance, so that the concept of the family of nations can acquire real teeth.

Also from Caritas in Veritate:

>>They also require the construction of a social order that at last conforms to the moral order, to the interconnection between moral and social spheres, and to the link between politics and the economic and civil spheres, as envisaged by the Charter of the United Nations.<<

It was Pope Paul VI who started the Unholy Alliance with the UN:

>>In speaking of humanity and generosity, We are echoing another fundamental principle of the United Nations, which is its very summit, namely, that you work here not only to avert conflicts between States, but also to make States capable of working for each other. You are not content with facilitating mere coexistence between nations; you take a much greater step forward, one deserving of Our praise and Our support: you organize brotherly cooperation among peoples. In this way a system of solidarity is established, so that lofty civilized aims may win the orderly and unanimous support of all the family of peoples for the common good and for the good of each individual. This is the finest aspect of the United Nations; it is its most truly human aspect; it is the ideal that mankind dreams of on its pilgrimage through time; it is the world’s greatest hope; it is, We presume to say, the reflection of the loving and transcendent design of God for the progress of the human family on earth a reflection in which We see the heavenly message of the Gospel. Here indeed We seem to hear the echo of the voice of Our Predecessors, and particularly of Pope John XXIII, whose message of “Pacem in Terris” received so honourable and significant a response among you. You proclaim here the fundamental rights and duties of man, his dignity, his freedom and above all his religious freedom. We feel that you thus interpret the highest sphere of human wisdom and, We would almost say, its sacred character.<<

Did you notice Paul VI’s reference to the UN as the “world’s greatest hope” or that “we would almost say, its sacred character”?

We have a new world order pope.

The Vatican's squalid partnership with Sachs is further indication of the diabolical disorientation foretold by the Fatima visionary, Sr. Lucia dos Santos.

---------------

One of Sachs's biggest supporters is the financier and philanthropist George Soros, who recently donated $50 million to the Millennium Villages Project. (The project is a partnership among the U.N., Columbia, and Sachs's own nonprofit organization, Millennium Promise.) According to Soros, whose foundation gives away between $350 million and $400 million a year, investing in Sachs offered an attractive "risk-reward ratio."

Paul VI also said: You proclaim here the fundamental rights and duties of man, his dignity, his freedom and above all his religious freedom.

"Above all his freedom of religion". This is Vatican II false theology. It contradicts Catholic teaching. Paul VI strikes again with his new religion.
