Oh, for Pete's sake. I knew it wouldn't be long before the FR anti-Catholic brigade talking points arrived.
Simple explanation: Priests don't marry because marriage and family directs their time and attention to worldly affairs, leaving less for God and His flock.
Unhinged FR Calvinist explanation (with spittle): IT'S A CONSPIRACY!!!! THOSE PRIESTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO GIVE THEIR STUFF AWAY TO THEIR FAMILIES (they can, as always) AND CHURCH PROPERTY STAYS WITH THE CHURCH (uh... shouldn't it?) SO THAT THE MONEY CAN GO TO THE POPE THAT LIVES LIKE A KING!!!*&%$#!! (he doesn't).
*yawn*

I happen to be a Catholic. There are many Catholics who think the way I do on the issue of clerical celibacy.
BTW-—We have a significant number of married priests in my archdiocese. And they do just fine I might add.
It is healthy to balance one’s vocation with a family IMHO.

Yes! Correct! My b-i-l, an RC priest just stopped by, and for his last twenty years [as a priest], he has never stopped [quite literally] doing good upon this earth. Even when he comes for a visit, he's here maybe 20 minutes tops, and still with that, his only dialogue is spiritually based. There'd be NO room in his life for kids and a wife.
