Those two sentences contradict each other, are you sure that is what you mean to say? If “how they are judged” is the same, and the time they are resurrected depends on “how they are judged”, then everyone would have to be resurrected at the same time, by that logic.

We know that those who have their names in the Lambs book of Life are saved. Those have already been through a judgement. Their works were what was expected of them and are proof they were valiant in their testimony of Jesus and they are resurrected first.

What I meant in my previous post was the criteria is basically the same for all people. The exception being that it will be tempered with our level of knowledge of the law. The expectation of Peter or Noah or Moses is different than it would be for me. They received more therefore more is expected.

I would say that the judgement is a process and not a single event.

As James stated, you can't have faith without works. We are all judged by our works.

The saved are resurrected first, probably because of the work they will be doing during the time leading up to the final judgement. Plus, they will stand in judgement as well. As well as the prophets of each time period.

Matt 19
28 And Jesus said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That ye which have followed me, in the regeneration when the Son of man shall sit in the throne of his glory, ye also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.

Are you trying to say that their salvation is dependent on this judgement of their works? Do you think that their names were only written in the Lamb’s book after they were judged?

As James stated, you can't have faith without works.

You have said this correctly, but without understanding the relationship between the two, as the scripture is clear that we are justified without works-- and not by them, lest we contradict the Apostle who clearly states "Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of grace, but of debt" (Rom 4:4). Good works are the demonstration of justification, so that it may be said that the Elect produce good works, and works that persevere:

Joh_15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain:

But these good works are worked into us, it being Christ who makes us grow, and as a result of a salvation already given by no working or willing of our own, but by the mercy of God solely:

Rom_9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

Thus when James speaks of works, he speaks only of the demonstration of justification, lest he explicitly contradict the Apostle Paul.

If you declare that we are saved by our works, then you contradict the Holy scriptures, and destroy the golden chain of salvation that has as its starting point and its conclusion the grace of God.

Oh?

So many front porches - so little time.
