Heavenly Father –

As we pass the 70th anniversary of the liberation of the Nazi concentration camps, may we reflect all Your people who suffer persecution in this age. May we heed the warning of history that if godly influences are withdrawn, how quickly evil rushes in to fill the vacuum.

Forgive us, Lord, for our sins of silence. In this dark world, we pray for courage and wisdom to fight the Evil One, through the power of Your Spirit.

Bless all those who sacrifice and put themselves in harm’s way – home and abroad – to keep us safe. Protect them from the enemy on all fronts. Give a special grace to all those who suffer and are persecuted for Your Name’s sake.

May we also send our prayers for Pastor Saeed Abedini, imprisoned and tortured in Iran: Saeed Abedini’s Wife Asks for Prayer

Let his sacrifice redound to Your greater glory and let it be known throughout Christendom. we ask for your tender mercy on his wife and family, that his suffering, if it be Your will, be lessened and that You may grant him and Your people ultimate victory over his tormentors.
