The first and most important call to arms is prayer. The second most important was eloquently stated by Chaplain James Caldwell at the Battle of Springfield in 1780. The troops needed wadding for their muskets and rifles and Caldwell handed out hymnals to the troops famously telling them,
"Give 'em Watts, boys!"
