The Russkies are only playing games to pander to the right-wing in Europe and the U.S. Part of their program is to pander both to the left and right so as to avoid being crushed by a unified western reaction. In practice your average Russkie is a barely functional drunk, and in Ukraine they are actively murdering Catholic priests and protestant pastors.
