Cardinal Kasper Asks for Prayers for Synod

To whom, exactly, does he ask us to pray?

From the Pope's sermon today:

"They the corruption of rigidity in their hearts". They felt pure because they observed "the letter of the law". "The law says you must do this and this". "But these were not saints, they were corrupt, corrupt because that type of rigidity can only move forward in a double life, and those who condemned these women then went to look for them behind, in secret, to have some fun '. The rigid are - to use the word that Jesus gave them - hypocrites: they lead a double life. Those who judge, let us think about the Church - all three women are allegorical figures of the Church - those who judge the Church rigidly have double life. With such rigidness you cannot breathe".

It appears he talks about his "mercy" fixation every other day.

Good question. Cardinal Sarah also recognizes there's a battle going on; but he's on the opposite side of Kasper's.

The idea that would consist in placing the Magisterium in a nice box by detaching it from pastoral practice -- which could evolve according to the circumstances, fads, and passions -- is a form of heresy, a dangerous schizophrenic pathology. I affirm solemnly that the Church of Africa will firmly oppose every rebellion against the teaching of Christ and the Magisterium.

I'll pray to Cardinal Sarah's God for a successul Synod outcome. I will never pray to Kasper's god, no matter what depths of Hell he may reign from.

The good people below also recognize there will be a battle at the Synod. I doubt they're praying to Kasper's god.
