The work of God is this: to believe in the one He has sent.

The hardest work any human being can do. Period. End of item.

To rest in the finished work of God in Christ is REAL striving, not the kind Solomon declared was a mere “chasing after the wind”. Weird...STRIVE to enter His REST??? The Bible is full of unequivocal declarations that, to our minds, are flatly contradicted later. God’s wisdom is MANIFOLD and His paths are BEYOND tracing out.

I love how God lays down His Truth over time, declaring an impossible standard and indicting man for refusing to admit he CAN’T KEEP IT! “Open your mouth wide and I would fill it...” But we follow our own stubborn way, the way that seems right to a man:

“The one who does these things will live by them”

Hold on. Didn’t God issue that edict? How did it get overturned by Paul’s “faith”? Does God contradict Himself? I’d say absolutely NOT.

He, outside of space-time, REVEALS Himself.
