13 Now when Joshua was near Jericho, he looked up and saw a man standing in front of him with a drawn sword in his hand. Joshua went up to him and asked, “Are you for us or for our enemies?”

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

The prelude to the great Battle of Jericho is similar to the experiences of both Jacob and Moses. Joshua wrestles with the Angel of the Lord...not physically this time, but verbally. "Whose side are You on?" is a question many leaders ask God when faced with an enemy. It is arrogant to always assume that "God is on my side" especially if we do not stand for righteousness and truth. Sometimes, however, the presence of evil is so heavy that it makes the answer an obvious one!
