A Jonathan Edwards sermon from 1741. The timeframe was to become known in American History as the First Great Awakening.
Thanks for posting and for the ping - I look forward to reading it again.

He read this sermon by candlelight, squeaky voice. Squinting.
The first time he delivered it there were crickets. The next time we had the great awakening.
What do we have today? God in the hands of angry sinners.
Not many of those types of sermons being preached today.
BFLR.
A classic for sure.
Interestingly, one of the local public high schools actually had the kids read it for their English class.
I was floored when I heard that but know the kid who told me.
People today see Johnathan Edwards as a foam-at-the-mouth fanatic. They do not realize that in his day it was important to get people interested in the Word of God as most of them would never reach adulthood or old age. Death was always at their door.
Edwards himself died not long after from a Smallpox vaccination gone wrong.
