“Adam and Eve did something God had no idea was going to happen? “
There is no evidence that He knew. As a matter of fact, He had to ask them. If He knew everything, why did He ask them “Who told you.....? Did you eat of the fruit....?”?
That is a courtroom tactic played out on Adam and Eve.
Jeremiah 23:24 Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? declares the Lord.
Psalm 139:1-6 To the choirmaster. A Psalm of David. O Lord, you have searched me and known me! You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar. You search out my path and my lying down and are acquainted with all my ways. Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether. You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me. ...
Well, then, He didn't even know where they were in the Garden, either, since He had to ask, "Adam, where are you?". Imagine that...God lost his own humans.
Your theology exposes the source of your conclusion. But, my FRiend, I can tell you unequivocally...you are wrong; HE KNEW!!!! and He planned everything including the so-called "fall" (there was no fall, since Adam actually had all the propensity for sin already on board) and God knew all of this because He was planning and executing His good will. Read Proverbs...all the steps of man are executed by God. Read Romans 9...all the choices made are God's choices, not yours.
I never sensed God didn’t KNOW. He asks them questions to draw them out, IMO, to confess their sin. Same with Cain. Later on Peter asks Ananias and Sapphira similar questions and they do not confess but double down...and died for it!
He placed the plan of salvation in His sky on His 4th day.
It is an amazing revelation to see how His sun, moon and stars tell a story that points to His Son. His first coming and His second advent..
I suspect most if not all ‘parents’ ask their children questions they already know the answer to..
