Probably older women with blue hair, who live below the Mason-Dixon line, and east of Mississippi.

Fits my mother.

He has the “feel good” speech without all of the the repentance/guilt and give/live our all for Jesus. It’s Gospel-lite.

I believe watching or listening to Christian anything .. is called FREEDOM OF CHOICE.

What do you care if somebody or nobody watches or listens to anything Christian ..??

For what it’s worth, I came across Charles Stanley awhile back while flipping channels. He doesn’t seem at all like those oily “prosperity” preachers one sees so often.

If you haven’t seen Stanley, I’d recommend a look.

I watch him on Sunday and listen to him when I'm driving.

I like how I think and feel about God when I listen to him and follow his advice and I find his sermons inspirational and helpful for my maintaining a thankful conversation with my Heavenly Father, His Son Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

I think his very unlikely rise to such prominence after his father's death seems to be yet another example of God raising the least among us as an example of His Power, Grace and Glory.

I am fascinated by his critics' reactions to him and also by his reactions to them.

When Joel comes on I can watch him or not.
When the over-inflated property tax bill arrives I’m forced to fork over the extortion.
Who do you think I like better?

I've watched Joel Osteen a few times. Not bad. I guess some people don't care for his chronic cheeriness, but I'd rather have a more positive uplifting message than the hellfire and brimstone types. Many of the latter are way too negative. Being told you're a screwup all the time gets wearing.

Too many of those “Christian” broadcasters seem not to have read, contemplated and inwardly digested the central truth of Christianity, so concisely stated in Ephesians 2:8-10.

That's my maiden aunt in Los Angeles who still lives in the same house she grew up in. Her TV dial never moves from the 700 Club.

We have a very, very good Christian radio and tv station where I am. I often listen to various programs. Not for music.

Go door-to-door for politics, as I like to do. Look if the TV is on. And if it is, who is on the TV. It is amazing the number of people with 2A and Prolife bumper stickers on their car who watch the Jerry Springer types. And it is amazing the number of those who vote Democrat and have Pat Robertson types on the TV.

As Jesus said. Ask and ye shall received. We don’t ask for he votes of those watching the Pat Robertson types. We don’t even knock on their door because we are told to only knock on the doors of the hard Rs.

And then we wonder why we lose.

I can remember the early 90s when I was checking out seminaries to pursue Masters in Divinity and Masters in Theology. Some of the seminaries I went to were great, but others were a lot to be desired. I visited Southern Baptist seminary, Reformed Theological Seminary, Southwestern Baptist Seminary and than started to head north. So when I was traveling through Oklahoma I spent a week in Tulsa - Oral Roberts University and Rhema Bible Training Institute. Boy my eyes were opened to the Word of Faith Movement, Name it Claim It, and the so called charismatic Movement. Next I stopped at the Assemblies of God theoligical seminary, and eyes opened to the Pentecostal Movement. I stopped at Concordia theological and Covenant Theological seminary.
the word of faith movement - (Joel Osteen) is a part is a man centered theological system that is based on a flawed interpretation of the Bible that breaks down the christian life based on Watchman Nee and a few other whacked out individuals whom claimed spiritual enlightment. The taking of Finney’s Arminism and blending it with a Seed of Faith, that God will bless you 100 fold - 100 dollars grants you 1000 dollars. claim physical healing based on that Christ healed, so in the atonement of Christ physical healing is guaranteed ( Spiritual healing of a right relationship with God through Christs sacrifice for personal sin and having faith in Christ jesus is what the relationship is to be) Not what can give you here on earth. The Bible promises no easy believism, wealth and health. Yes Joel osteen is no better than a snake-oil salesmen.

‘So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth. Revelation 3:16

Laodicea was the last and worst of the seven churches of Asia. We are there. Lukewarm at its finest in America.

It does make a difference what you believe because your choice determines where you will spend eternity. . . with God believing in Jesus or without God and joining satan in the pits of hell. Prepare. . .everyone has a next breath. . .somewhere. http://www.patburt.com/

Podcasts, let's see

All the Reformed Forum stuff. Recommended.

Issues, etc. Pick and choose, too much to follow. Lootherin.

ChrisRosebrough's Fighting for the Faith, Pick and choose, way too much to follow daily.

Carl Trueman and the gang, Mortification of Spin. Recommended.

James White's Dividing Line, Recommended.

White Horse Inn. Recommended.

Westminster Seminary's Office Hours. Recommended.

Derek & Sharon Gilbert, PID Radio and A View From the Bunker. Recommended, but only with discernment. About half the time they're into something interesting, half the time in conspiracy theory la la land ("Teh Nephelim are Coming! Teh Panics!"). Useful for keeping ones finger on the pulse of fringe dispensationalism.

Chuck Missler, for laughs, and only occasionally. I think he's a kook.
