It’s easy to just throw a blanket damnation at someone. Not so easy to see a situation of a believer not yet perfected. Some of us establish a line in our minds that we think a believer would never cross. The only one, however, is given to us by the bible: to refuse Christ as savior forever.

Hinn gets a lot of things wrong... but he’s closer than you think here.

Firstly they get confused, or confuse people on the true meaning of what the apostle James was writing about when he wrote “ faith without works is dead “ and then they hang their WHOLE theological system on that one verse, were as ? We put line upon line, verse upon verse, or scripture, we interpret the bible with the bible and with the help of the Holy Spirit, and none other, not by man’s so called wisdom or traditions.
James was NOT talking about saving faith, for that faith or your salvation is between you and God.
James was taking about putting your faith into action, not just talking about, but putting your money were your moth is.
Either you act on your faith in doing God’s will, or good works for God, or shut up.
God does not want us to be fakes, or hypocrites, if you say you give to the poor ? Then you had better have a track record of giving to the poor.
Even James tried to explain in his epistle, you say you are saved, but yet when a brother comes who is poor and destitude and just say, “ pray and be warm “ without taking pity and compassion on that person ? Were is your faith ? Were is your love of Christ for that person.
You say you want to go on missions and help the poor or lost, but only talk about it without taking the steps to actually doing it ? Were is your faith ?
You say you want a house one day and believe it’s God’s will for your life to own a house but don’t take the steps and trust God for a house, were is your faith ? Without putting it into action, it is dead.
By the way those salvation by works folks ?
The bible says, in the book of Galatians, that NO MAN is justified in the sight of God BY THE LAW.
That includes you you self righteous law keepers, works based salvationeers..... It’s ALL BY GRACE, OR NONE AT ALL.

And if it does not fit the Christ you know... maybe you are not yet familiar with Him who became... yes... death on a stick for your sake. I use the phrase on purpose, it is a classical example of a horribly bad sermon title. It also is very apt for what happened to Christ.

Christ was for a little while treated as dirt so you could be eternally clean. If that does not move you to eternal gratitude I do not know what would. Look at your gratitude and don’t worry about what you can boast about. You can’t.

I just do not see Jesus as becoming my sin...he took the punishment for it but he did not become my sin....he was and remains sinless...”the lamb of God without blemish”.

Jesus did not “become dirt”....Nor die “On a stick”...that’s a crude and ‘disturbing’ way to state the length and depth of all He did for us....so no I will not see it that way.

You have my post already otherwise.

He took on the liability of sin and stood in sin's place, while not doing anything wrong. But it required Him to be treated as though He were sin.

That seems to be sanitizing it quite a bit...That's like saying I received a traffic ticket but the police officer (Jesus) paid the fine for me so I was off the hook...
