I DO NOT believe in replacement theology. I believe that the church of the first decade following the Resurrection of Jesus was TOTALLY made up of Jewish believers in the Messiah. Then, largely under the influence of Paul, the Gentiles were “grafted in” to the vine of this body of Jewish believers. Thus, the Church IS the Jewish remnant, with Gentiles grafted in to its members.

Notice that the secular record of the expulsion of the Jews by Claudius, came because of the instigation over a figure named “Chrestus”. Could this be a corruption of the name Christ?
Thus the third phase of the Roman Church would be as an entirely gentile congregation. The church thrived, reaching hundreds of former pagans. Its development in those years, was Gentile. An explanation developed as to why the Jews were absented, which became the heresy.

What is interesting is that this historic fact makes their 1st pope Peter out of the will of God that made him the apostle to the jews

The church can be traced back to Pentecost itself...

Can't we all?

.....”That error is called “Replacement Theology”, the false teaching that the church of Jesus Christ is the new Israel of God, and that other than coming into the church as individuals, God has no ultimate plan for the physical children of Israel”......

I had a dear God-mother who believed that the church is the “New” Israel, it was the only bone of contention we had regarding the faith. She was a woman of God’s Word so we would really go at it.

She would always come to the place where her silence spoke volumes as she digested whatever the last scripture reference and question I might raise........and soon after she wouldn’t discuss it further.

I loved her greatly but we surely did disagree on that note.

I understand the arguments but they always seem to take on the same twisting and churning, and jumping thru hoops of scripture in order to make them fit what they want to believe, rather than believe what the scripture says. Often reminds me of catholic debates.

That fact that God STILL has plans for Israel is unavoidable and gets proved almost on a daily basis. That this tiny nation and her people still exist after countless attempts to annihilate all memory of them is extraordinary. No, God is definitely NOT done with Israel!
