Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem
Many Years ago, the Shah of Iran desired to install a new telephone system in his capital city of Iran. My Dad, who was a planner for New England Telephone Co, was enlisted to train nine Iranian engineers. Well, my Dad didn't just train them, he invited them home for dinner! So there was Mom, with six children under 15 and nine Iranian men and their wives, serving dinner! She did a great job, and our guests were terrific. There were no "dietary restrictions" or head scarves, or any other vestige of the 7th century that I could see. After they went home, There was a delivery of huge Gift package of the finest pistachio nuts I have ever tasted before or since. I still remember the taste of them. The gift was addressed to my Mom. Years later, a Persian gentleman told me that Pistachio nuts are the highest tribute of esteem that can be given and dates back to Ancient Persia.
Right now, we are still studying Joseph, yet in this chapter we see Judah stepping up to the plate to help his family. He takes responsibility for his younger half-brother Benjamin, and urging the family to take action and not procrastinate any further.
Joseph's informers tell him the brothers are returning. In his anticipation of their return, he prepares a feast...much like the father in the story of the Prodigal Son. We know that "Something Big" is about to happen!
Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.
This Symbol Represents Christians in The Middle East, who desperately need our Prayers.
Hallelujah and Amen
