Father God, we praise You for this day, and for Your provision that encircles us always.

Lord, we pray for all those in our military, that You would keep them safe on their missions and grant them wisdom and skill and success.

Lord, we have read how Your apostle Paul labored for You and suffered for You. He carried Your word and Your love, and he endured persecution nearly everywhere he went. And, looking back on it all, he could say that You rescued him from every trial and persecution, every evil attack. When everyone deserted him, You stood at his side and gave him strength, and he proclaimed Your message and was delivered from the lion’s mouth. Lord, as Paul found You faithful, and as countless saints who have walked Your way testify with him – a great cloud of witnesses – so may we be encouraged to trust and to follow You. You will bring us, as You brought them, safely to Your heavenly kingdom. To You be glory for ever and ever, in the Name of Jesus Christ, Amen.
