If one believes the Catholic prophecies of Fr. Gobbi and others the heating up of violence is the beginning of the final confrontation between good and evil.
The founding premise of Islam is that God's eternal Word was lost after Jesus' time. However, not only does Jesus deny this could ever happen, but also,if that were the case, His promises and commands would also have been lost. A just God such as we truly have could never permit such confusion about His plans. And what kind of spirit demands the murder and sick violence of jihadists? Such a being cannot be the same as He Who created and sustains us.

Actually the “milder parts,” as you put it, belong to the First Given Half of the koran; these suras were taken loosely from the Bible and the Torah; further, the First Given Half was abrogated by Mohammad himself.

The Second Given Half was the last word of allah and superseded the First, which, since Mohammad’s time, has been invalid. Moderate musselmen know this Islamic fact; it is just they don’t want you to know it.

See the Hadiths and Sunnahs which chronicle the life and sayings of Mohammad, these are Talibari, Muslim, Isaq and Bukhari. These are the other four holy books which must be read to understand what the koran is actually saying - another Islamic fact which you are not supposed to know.
