(...fixing our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith...)
To: metmom
O God, I have tasted Thy goodness, and it has both satisfied me and made me thirsty for more. I am painfully conscious of my need of further grace. I am ashamed of my lack of desire. O God, the Triune God, I want to want Thee; I long to be filled with longing; I thirst to be made more thirsty still. Show me Thy glory, I pray Thee, that so I may know Thee indeed. Begin in mercy a new work of love within me. Say to my soul, "Rise up, any love, my fair one, and come away." Then give me grace to rise and follow Thee up from this misty lowland where I have wandered so long. In Jesus' Name, Amen.
Amen.

<....”Being made in His image we have within us the capacity to know Him.....
In our sins we lack only the power.
The moment the Spirit has quickened us to life in
regeneration our whole being senses its kinship to God
and leaps up in joyous recognition That is the heavenly birth without which we cannot see the Kingdom of God.
It is, however, not an end but an inception, for now begins the glorious pursuit the heart's happy exploration of the infinite riches of the Godhead. .....That is where we begin.”....)
There's a massive difference in understanding the scriptures before and then after He has saved us.....I can recall exactly the difference between when I began reading the Bible, with the intent to know the truth, and after I gave Him my life and accepted His finished work for me.
The scriptures were “opened” as I had never seen before and captivated me for hours on end. I could not wait til the next reading as He taught and instructed me by His Spirit things which had escaped me before. It remains so today as His word echos His voice to us and shows us what HE desires we understand and know...... There's a great difference between reading the Bible and study of...and that of doing so under His Spirit's teaching which without Christ within you will never understand as HE desires.
My journey to God began as I began reading the Bible....
Jesus says to all...."But you do not believe because you are not of My sheep. ...My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me and I give eternal life to them, and they will never perish; and no one will snatch them out of My hand."......
