Jesus Christ wasn’t a socialist. He was the Son of God. And just what have atheists ever done to advance the cause of civil rights?

Scripture was speaking of the generous spirit Christians should have when another brother or sister were in need, and they can share and all be okay.
It was not about entitlement programs...as the left perceive it. Nor was it about communes as in the 60s-70s.
Right. Not only was Jesus not socialist—socialism advocates exactly the opposite of what Christ preached.
In teaching us to give to the poor, Christ means giving of our own volition. When a third party forces us with violence to give to a recipient of that party’s choosing, it deprives us of the gift of giving because we’re not making a moral choice.
Choice is the essence of Christian belief. Violent coercion is its opposite. The honest socialist with the mind to perceive this point will have the opportunity for real self -criticism.
Jesus pointed to Himself and explained that, “I am the way....”
Definitely not socialism.
