I think you are being uncharitable. This person shared his/her thoughts and plans with us. I don’t think that’s bad. And I’ve never heard of “ember days” so I’ll have to click that link and learn something new.
Happy New Year.
I’m just hoping 2015 will be a whole lot better than 2014 was, because in a lot of ways this was the worst year of my life. Really, I’ve had worse, but this one felt the worse.
So, best wishes to all Freepers of all Faiths and no Faith!

I agree with jocon. All of us need encouragement.
I don't think an ego is stroked through an anonymous, world-wide website. Ego by definition is specific to one person, and if that person is anonymous, how is his ego massaged?
Noble aspirations, WITD, and perhaps you have nudged me to attempt something extraordinary as well. I had awakened this morning to the firm resolve to leave alcohol aside from this point forward, and turn that desire into an offering to Our Lord through Our Lady of Good Help.
Ad Majorem Dei Gloriam!

Interpret it the way you want, that’s what I did, too, after thirty years of evaluating human behavior.
Also, based on the world as it is now, I expect 2015 to be worse than 2014. Hopefully, you have water, food, other essentials stored. Good luck to all.

Sorry to hear about last year being bad. I will keep you in my prayers.

Sorry you had a rough 2014, jocon307. May the Lord refresh your heart in 2015!
