Will Colo. governor apologize to homeschooling families?

In the latest attack on home education, Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper has proclaimed that only public schools can educate children to be productive members of society — implying that parents are incapable of educating kids.

"Government should do what people individually can't do, or can't do well themselves," the Democrat said in a speech at a luncheon last week. "You know, educating our young people, making sure our roads are designed and built properly, making sure our communities are safe."

Most are adamant that by his comment, the governor made it very clear that he believes parents are not capable of teaching their own … and when and if they do, Hickenlooper implies that their children would do shoddy or subpar jobs designing roads and protecting society.

The governor's assertion didn't sit well with the Homeschool Legal Defense Association.

"There are tens of thousands of children in Colorado whose parents educate them quite well at home," HSLDA staff attorney Mike Donnelly responded. "Colorado law recognizes that parents have the primary responsibility to educate their children, and that home education is legitimate and appropriate."

Donnelly considers this to be an unwarranted cheap shot by Hickenlooper to parents who homeschool their own children in America, especially considering the preponderance of evidence and statistics showing that it is the state-educated children who miss the mark when it comes to education — when compared to homeschoolers.

That is real funny. Colleges are finding that they like homeschooled students and are making provisions for them.

Biggest laugh I’ve had all day! Yeah that’s why most college students know nothing of this nation’s history. I’ve seen interviewers on the college campus ask who we fought in the Revolutionary War. One girl said China. Most can’t name the Vice-President of this country.

He didn’t just insult homeschoolers, but private schools as well.

After barely surviving the election last month, Chickenpooper is just doing what Rats do: stating their belief that ‘You didn’t build that’ - that only the collective can succeed, not hardworking individuals.

Comrades how is it that you do not want to follow party line and live glories party life. If your children are not part of Red Youth Rangers how will they ever be part of the party. If you are not careful they could end up “Wolverines” from all this home schooling and freedom.

Yup, it's what infuriates Lefties about home schoolers; that they can't indoctrinate the children of their enemies.

Government is civilization’s greatest failure, the biggest humanly constructed failure of all times. It’s only legitimate function is protection from ememies abroad and criminals at home. So to them I say, “Just go away. Take your welfare programs, your health care, and your dreadful public schools and just go away. You’ve made a mess of everything.”

Isn’t it amazing that people educated their own children, for the most part, for thousands of years????
