The "X" works just as well, my pastor told me, as the SOUND of the Greek "X" is "K" as in Kristos. Same Savior.

Plus also if my memory is correct, one of the apostles, St. Andrew died on a Greek cross in the form of an “X”. Again I could be wrong so please do correct me.
