Not true. In ancient mythology, demigods were the offspring of gods and people, and they had supernatural powers.
Mary is simply revered as the Blessed Mother, the one woman chosen. Not as a god or goddess.
That's why people prayed to them like Catholics pray to Mary.
“Not true. In ancient mythology, demigods were the offspring of gods and people, and they had supernatural powers.”
This is a distinction. Instead of the offspring of gods and people, paganism in the RC got the same result by a different pathway over centuries:
1. Claiming she was above all humanity by teaching the immaculate conception.
2. Elevating her to be filled with grace instead of what God says - graced by God.
3. including her on the false rosary and making her a demigod with powers to answer prayer - 10x the number of Mary prayers as Our Fathers.
4. Portraying the “holy family” as God the Father, Jesus Christ and Mary.
5. Making her a demigod iconically through-out the RC world sphere.
None of which is Biblical.
Simply?
SIMPLY???
Why doesn't RAHAB get some air time?
Mary is simply revered as the Blessed Mother, the one woman chosen. Not as a god or goddess.
Two things: you ascribed a title to Mary not found in the Bible....Blessed Mother. She is blessed among women.
If you read the catechism of the catholic church you'll find she does have super powers.
by your, and the catholic churches, definition she's a demigod.
