On a recent afternoon in the Senate majority leaders office, Harry Reid decided he was done talking about his chief of staff, David Krone. Instead, he and his top aide wanted to chat about the Vatican.
We sure do like this new pope, Mr. Reid said of Pope Francis. After a brief discussion about the popes opponents in the Catholic hierarchy, Mr. Reid, a Mormon from Searchlight, Nev., brought up the name of perhaps the pontiffs most vocal critic, the American cardinal Raymond L. Burke, a once enormously powerful prelate who has lost key Vatican positions under Francis.
How about Burke? Theyve demoted him twice, Mr. Reid said with a chuckle. You know, Ive had dealings with Burke.
He told a story about the time he spent hours with Cardinal Burke in Missouri after the funeral of former Senator Thomas F. Eagleton.
After the funeral, we went to his home; I dont know what its called. A very nice place. And we talked about nothing. Now Claire McCaskill and others just hate the man, said Mr. Reid, referring to the current Missouri senator, who had declined to vote for him for Democratic leader earlier in the day. Then Mr. Reid added that he had had a good conversation with Cardinal Burke and enjoyed it....

Harry Reid has had "head" trouble as long as he's darkened the door of the U.S. Senate, his seat bought and paid for by his backers, Nevada casinos, still (and always) run by the mafia.
Harry's HEAD is either in the clouds,
in the sand
or
up his butt.
Harry wouldn't know Pope Francis even if the pope walked up to him and kicked him in the shins.
