If we are all Christians, the we should agree that when it comes to Church (brick and mortar) doctrine or theology, the Bible should take precedence! Scripture says ‘the Holy Spirit will teach you the deep things of god’...that’s not debatable as it is God’s word, not mine.
It most certainly does and it was to be able to avoid the teaching of those trying to deceive. That fact that the Catholic Church promotes the concept that people can't understand scripture without them is indicative of someone trying to deceive.
1 John 2:26 These things I have written to you concerning those who are trying to deceive you. 27As for you, the anointing which you received from Him abides in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you; but as His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you abide in Him.
