A current LDS apostle and a former Utah governor were honored by Utah Catholics Thursday. Elder L. Tom Perry and his wife, Barbara Perry along with Jon Huntsman and his wife, Mary Kaye Huntsman, were honored at Catholic Community Services’ annual Humanitarian Awards Dinner at Little America Hotel in downtown Salk Lake City. Mary Kaye Huntsman has launched two youth programs called Bag of Hope and Power in You. The Catholic Community Service said that Jon and Mary Kaye have worked tirelessly in pubic service and to help those in need...

From the article:

And from the article (I kid you NOT):

The Catholic Community Service said that Jon and Mary Kaye have worked tirelessly in PUBIC [sic] service...

OK, yes I added the bracketed word [sic] -- but did NOT add anything to the above other than highlighting MidUtahRadio.com's identification of what kind of "service" that the Huntsmans were supposedly engaged in...

I am sure MidUtahRadio will "correct" this at some point...so don't blame the messenger here...

“Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.”

You really need to grow up and get some help.

A little testy this morning are we? Did you ever consider that Colofornian inserted that to alert people to the fact that it was the article that published it that way and not an error on her part? Hmmmm?

No, unlike you I don't read minds or make excuses for other people's motives. But then maybe you don't know what {sic} means or why it's used..I also didn't know it was a she.

LOL.

So the posting of this thread is a public service announcement for those of us who may have been confused by the midutahradio.com story, thinking that the Huntsmans are in pubic service.

I appreciate you clearing that up, because it appeared at first to be a kind of juvenile (potty language) joke (not that there’s anything wrong with that) on the religion forum. With the Mormon Huntsmans as the butt of the joke.

#1 I didn't create the "joke" as you referenced it ...merely passed on the typo reference

#2 I didn't even notice the typo until I was posting reply #1 & was doing the cut & paste. IoW the reason I posted the article to begin with was that I thought it was on the unique side to see Catholics were giving Mormons awards.

I only highlighted the typo because I thought it might draw more "check out under the hoods" glances from readers...which, btw, is the very purpose of any headline.

If it's become your (DMZ, Lewislynn) passion to weakly attempt to judge the motivations of other posters without bother to ask...go for it. (Grow up; but, hey, go for it) Just don't pretend that you're very good at it.

(Now, if anybody wants to comment as to why Catholics are giving Mormons awards...I'd be interested in seeing those posts)

The lady doth protest too much, methinks.

Hardly a passion, but sometimes (this time for example) the posts are so silly that I cannot help but comment.

You are familiar with ecumenism, right?

(Yeah, well you’d probably think I “protesteth too much” if i told you I wasn’t a lady...so much for your continually off-base assumptions) ... but hey whatever it takes to fuel your drive to be dismissive of whatever doesn’t meet your posting standards...(oh and as for protesting, if Protest-ants can’t protest without accusations of excessive protest, who can?

Each side is trying to sheep steal from the other!

I've been blithered!

Where can we find an 'OFFICIAL MORMON' teaching website??
Official sites are sites supported by LDS officials unless said official sites are considered unofficial by said officials.

At that point such sites are unofficial unless officially referenced for official purposes by officials who can do so officially.

This should not be misconstrued as an indication that official sites can be unofficially recognized as official nor should it be implied that unofficial sites cannot contain official information, but are not officially allowed to be offical despite their official contents due the their unofficialness.

Official sites will be official and recognized as official by officials of the LDS unless there is an official reason to mark them as unofficial either temporally or permanently, which would make the official content officially unofficial.

This is also not to imply that recognized sites, often used on FR by haters and bigots cannot contain official information, it just means that content, despite its official status, is no longer official and should be consider unofficial despite the same information being official on an official site elsewhere.

Even then the officialness my be amended due to the use of the unofficial information which may determine the officialness of anything be it official or unofficial depending on how and where it is used officially or unofficially.
I hope this clear things up for the lurkers out there.
The haters tend to make things complicated and confusing when it is all really quite crystal clear.
