Lord, we pray that You would give wisdom to those who lead our nation’s military, from President Obama and down through all the ranks; help them know what ought to be done and how.
With the election only a few days away, we pray that You will guide the voters and raise up good and able leaders in our country.
Even as we pray for such leaders, Father, we do not put our trust in them – in mortal men, who cannot save. When their spirit departs, they return to the ground, and on that very day their plans come to nothing. But blessed is he whose help is the God of Israel, whose hope is in the LORD his God, the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them – You, O LORD, who remains faithful forever. You uphold the cause of the oppressed and give food to the hungry; You set prisoners free and give sight to the blind. You love the righteous, Lord, and You lift up those who are bowed down. We praise You – loving and just, holy and merciful – in the Name of Jesus, Amen.
