It’s hard for me to buy that a pope doesn’s know Latin backwards and forwards. It’s the official language of Catholicism, for crying out loud!
Like I said I’ve known priests that can’t speak Latin and can only read what is required of them at Mass. Francis is only a priest and not a well educated priest at that. I heard he was a poor student in college. From what I can find out Francis can only speak two languages fluently, Spanish and Italian.
