Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

People often, when reading the Bible, get bogged down in "The Begats". Even the Gospels open with a Genealogy! At first, it seems like just a list of names, but as we dig deeper, we see how "The Begats" tell a sweeping story of ethnicity, civilization, and, ultimately, redemption.

Nimrod, a descendant of Ham, as son of Noah, is the Primordial Hunter.

Even though people eventually settle into cities, or become nomadic herders, the Hunter remains, as evidenced by Story of Esau and Jacob.
Esau's father Isaac really loves the savory stew that Esau makes with wild game, but there are times when Esau arrives home after catching nothing. He sells his Birthright for a miserable bowl of soup because he is so hungry.

Living by whatever one could hunt was not reliable, but it was certainly more exciting and "manly" than boiling up some beans. No matter how "civilized" humans become, there will always be those who love hunting! It is part of our nature.

Count me in...I’m a huntress :) We are blessed every year with meat in our freezer, some years more than others, but blessed all the same. This has been something my family has done for years together (my husband, son and daughter). Praying for the Peace and daily needs of Jerusalem, Israel, and all those in need. Praying for our nation, praying for the persecuted and Godspeed help for their needs, praying with thanksgiving for our families and the blessings received. Amen.
