I have been critical of some of Pope Francis's comments at times. I think the one on proselytize vs. evangelize sort of caused an uproar. Given that I have at times myself criticized Pope Francis as being too of the cuff, I believe justice demands that I at least make this thread as it suggest maybe Pope Francis had it right, and I had it wrong. For the record, I don't usually start threads, those long time FR's, Catholic and Protestant alike I think can confirm this fact.

Well, this Catholic finds Pope Francis to be as near irritating as Obama. Every day, we get new comments from Francis. Why can’t he keep his mouth shut for a few days. It is very tiring having to read his latest advice. Makes me wonder how Catholics survived all those years under JP2 and Benedict who chose their words carefully.

From what I’ve read I’d say the atheist had serious doubts about his atheism...

Well, maybe this is the first mustard seed of faith, who knows? Like I said, if Pope Francis and his efforts brings out the conversion of the one of the leading Atheist in Italy, I think we all have say, well Done Pope Francis, even if I, you, others, have disagreements with some of the things he has said.
