A well-spent eight minutes! Thank you for posting this. I particularly liked how the young mother listened to her own mother, and incorporated the prayers of Bishop Alvaro. Not everyone would have done so.

Del Portillo died in March 23, 1994 in Rome a few hours after he visited the Holy Land and celebrated his last Mass in the historic Cenacle, traditionally recognized as the place where Jesus Christ took the last supper as the first Mass.

The miracle that led to Del Portillo’s beatification was the instantaneous healing of Chilean newborn baby, Jose Ignacio Ureta Wilson in 2003. The boy suffered a cardiac arrest lasting more than 30 minutes and a massive hemorrhage. The medical team considered the baby dead, when unexpectedly, his heart started to beat again.

His parents had been praying for his revival through the intercession of Bishop Alvaro del Portillo. Ten years later Jose Ignacio is living a normal life.

Stephen Hawking doesn’t believe in God. I do! There is no other reason for the existance of all this. It didn’t come from nothing.

Is anything further known about the doctor regarding his faith?

Not just once doctor. The medical team treating the baby thought he had already died, but his parents prayed for healing through the intercession of the bishop.

I wonder about that one doctor, though, because he said he questioned faith, and that the miracle helped open some doors in that regard, but it didn't seem like he was totally back. I'll watch the video again.

The intercession of the saints is so important, though. It tells us Christ is listening and provides miracles through their prayers.
