Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

What is it that makes humans different from the rest of the Animal Kingdom? Is it the quality of love and loyalty? One could argue that a beloved dog has a measure of that. How about the use of tools? Chimps and Ants have been observed doing that. Certainly it is not the ability to sacrifice oneself for the community, as bees do that all the time.

I could be all wrong about this, as it is just my opinion, but I think that at least one of the qualities of Man that makes him "just a little below the angels" is his Creativity. The very first Glimpse of the Almighty in the Torah is Him as Creator. The Universe Itself is so breathtakingly beautiful, and quite complex. Just as soon as we think we have it all figured out, a satellite or telescope reveals something new! Geocentrism gives way to Heliocentrism, which gives way to Newtonian physics, which yields to Einstein, which dissolves into string theory and beyond. There seems to be no end in sight, and there is no such thing as "Settled Science".

This is amazing enough on the "macro" level, but is even more astounding as we peer into the secret quantum world of subatomic particles! And let's not forget the magnificence of the DNA Molecule!

Now let us look at the entire body of creative art that has proceeded from the Mind of Man. Prehistoric Cave Paintings, The Sistine Chapel, Stonehenge, Chartres Cathedral, Beethoven's Ninth Symphony (Composed while he was DEAF!),Great Paintings, Films, Architecture, Sculpture, Musical Works, even gadgets and computers, are all the result of Design. The Job of Designer will never become obsolete as long as humans exist.
