Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Jobs In The Bible

Concubine

(New International Version (NIV)

7 "If a man sells his daughter as a servant, she is not to go free as menservants do. 8 If she does not please the master who has selected her for himself, he must let her be redeemed. He has no right to sell her to foreigners, because he has broken faith with her. 9 If he selects her for his son, he must grant her the rights of a daughter. 10 If he marries another woman, he must not deprive the first one of her food, clothing and marital rights.

(Exodus 21)

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Oh LORD, Our God,
How Blessed is Your Holy Name!
You Alone Are Worthy of Praise,
For You Alone Are The One True God.
Omnipotent, Omniscient, and Omnipresent,
Teach us To Stand Firm,
And Always look To You For Our Sustenance.
keep us From Doing Whatever Seems Right In Our own Eyes,
Instead of looking to You For Our Answers.

We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
According to Your Will and Promise.
We Pray For the People and Leaders of Israel,
that They Will Look to You for the Protection
and Prosperity of their Nation.
We Also Pray For Revival in our own Beloved USA.

We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Garden of Prayer.

Hallelujah and Amen

Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

Just because something is RECORDED in the Scriptures, does not mean that it is God's Perfect Will for our lives. Concubines, who were like secondary wives, had more rights than a "mistress" or a "girlfriend". It was a practice of the times which were a tribal economy, and the Law of Moses actually improved the status of these women.
Later on, Both King David and King Solomon had concubines and it was a practice that caused nothing but trouble. As Israel grew and evolved, this fell out of practice, and by the First Century, it was confined to the rulers. As John the Baptist pointed out to Herod, Marriage was a Holy Institution, and Herod was in disobedience to the Law of Moses by taking his brother's wife while his brother was still alive! So it would seem that even Kings were subject to the law of God regarding marriage.

Come and Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem, For Our FRiends in Need, For Persecuted Believers, and For Our Beloved Nation.
