Scripture is the word of God revealed, tradition is not the word of God revealed. A vast difference. For example, there is a tradition that St. Peter was really crucified in what is today South Russia(if I remember correctly see the Oxford University history of the English translation of the Bible.)Why not believe that tradition rather than the tradition to the effect that Peter was in Rome when he died..
There is a difference between tradition and Sacred Tradition.
