Where can we send donations for the building fund?
I’ve been on the Temple Mount. It was four years ago during Hannukah with a group from our Temple. We were not permitted to take any religious items, such as skull caps or prayer shawls. We were also told to watch what we said, and to not say any prayers. We were told that a Christian woman was ejected because it was suspected that she was saying a silent prayer.
I said a silent Shehechianu, which is the Hebrew prayer thanking G-d for allowing us to reach this occasion. If I would have been caught, I might have been ejected, or it might have started a riot.
A few years earlier, the Muslims were caught illegally excavating in the Temple Mount with the intention of building another mosque, and covering up any evidence of a Jewish presence prior to Islam. The took 2,000+ years of archaeological artifacts, crushed them smithereens, and dumped them in a valley.
I’d absolutely donate!
All Israel should feel so ashamed for how the reacted to God giving them the Temple Mount. From my perspective, it appeared as if they didn’t want it when God placed it in their hands. I suspect that far too many Jews don’t want a Temple because of what it means for them personally and for the world. Instead of being a great blessing, they see the Temple as a curse.
This will actually be the fourth temple. The second one, built by Ezra, was torn down and rebuilt by Herod, which was subsequently destroyed when the Romans sacked Jerusalem A.D. 70.
The Structure at Machpelah is made of dressed Herodian stonework, much like the Western Wall of the Temple Mount. The Tombs therein house the remains of Abraham and Sarah (NOT Hagar!), Isaac(NOT Ishmael!) and Rebecca, and Jacob(NOT Esau!) and Leah. Rachel, the beloved 2nd wife of Jacob is buried in a tomb near Bethlehem, where she died in childbirth.
In a Real estate transaction, the Purchase and sale agreement has to contain three important elements:
1. A description of the Property.
2. The names of the buyer and seller.
3. The price paid for the Property.
All three of these elements for the property in question are duly registered and available for public examination in the Book of Genesis.
The temple mount agreement is also registered in the Bible.
It is the muslim who is the usurper of the property in both cases.
G-d bless you, Dave.
I managed some silent prayers there too, in 1984.
I was there about 6 years ago. I had my backpack with Ham sandwich walked up close to the Al-Aqsa Mosque Foot Bathing pool. I almost tossed my Ham sandwich into the pool as a gesture of solidarity with the G-d of the Jews...but the thought of making CNN dissuaded me.
Like!
Rather, since the rapture was an invention that came from the 18-19 centuries, Christians, instead are going to have to suffer for their faith in Jesus. There will be NO rapture, PERIOD.
Was there not going to be another Jewish temple built before the end of the age?
Got to remember that there has been thief of Jewish/Christian landmarks under Islam.
Let’s get the party started!
Tossing a ham sandwich is not going to endear you to the biblical Hebrews. Pouring in some whisky or wine would insult the Muslims without simultaneously insulting Jews.
Of Course.
Hagia Sophia is one of the more egregious examples! :-)
:-)
I am not going to argue with an intellectual pigmy. Paul believed in the Rapture (harpazo, episynagogue, etc). I’ll stick with Paul (circa 60AD till today)
