[Catholic Caucus] Mother Angelica on Vatican II "As Catholics we've been terribly quiet…"
The Wild Voice ^ | 8/17/2014

Posted on 09/05/2014 3:43:52 AM PDT by markomalley

Below is a video of Mother Angelica, which aired in 1993 on EWTN, speaking about and to a "group" within the Catholic Church. This monologue was her response to Jesus Christ being portrayed by a woman in a mime performance during World Youth Day in 1993. However, it is important to note that she is not simply commenting on an isolated incident, but rather exposing a much bigger picture. One can easily find relevance in her words for our current time and can only imagine what she might say in 2014. Below the video we have typed up some of her words in an abridged and edited transcript.

Mother Angelica, 1993 (abridged transcript):
You know, as Catholics we've been terribly quiet all these years…

I'm tired of anagrams. I'm tired of your witchcraft. I'm tired. I'm tired of being pushed in corners. I'm tired of your inclusive language that refuses to admit that the Son of God is a Man. I'm tired of your tricks. I'm tired of your deceits. I'm tired of you constantly just making a crack and the first thing you know there's a hole and all of us fall into it. No. This was deliberate. This was a group that was told what to do and how to do it.
I am so tired of you liberal Church in America. And everything you've ever done has gone in silence. Nothing, nothing you've done from your withcraft to your anagrams to your centering prayer to all this earth spirituality…No, this is not an accident. We've swallowed this now for thirty years. I'm tired of it. We've swallowed enough of your idea of God and you really have no God.
You spread your errors to children. And our children don't even know the Eucharist anymore. They don't understand that it is the Blessed Sacrament. That it's the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Jesus. Your Catechisms are so watered down that they say nothing but 'love your neighbor'. No, you've got to love God first…I don't like your Church. You have nothing to offer. You do nothing but destroy.
We're not going to go for all those crazy things that you're pushing out as new and cultural and American….You've made it pagan. You've helped to make this nation pagan because you have no spirituality that attracts…Your whole purpose is to destroy.
You're not builders you're destroyers. I'm not going to take that anymore.
You've been strong too long.
What a destructive force you have been. No. No.
I have to make a statement as you make a statement, but mine is not as subtle. Mine is well thought out and I am not going to listen to what you have to say.
My community and I proclaim to you and to this nation: we are Roman Catholic of a Latin Rite…we're not conservatives, we're merely Catholic.
We have hidden under bushels too long. We have taken everything and we have been obedient. To what? To a destructive force.
Don't call me rebellious. No. You're rebellious.
Well, I've made my statement. I don't care whether you like it or not. It's time somebody said something about all these tiny little cracks that you have been putting for the past thirty years into the Church….Am I bitter? No, but I'm being realistic.
How sad you are. But we know what you think and what you want…You've hidden your agenda with a mime. My agenda is not hidden. I tell you and the whole world.
I'm tired of your theologians who do nothing but divide and separate and destroy. It's time. It's time we say that.
I don't like your kind of religion. I don't like your ways.
Now you know how I feel. I've known for years how you feel but I have yet to hear anyone contradict you or cross you or say anything to distress you. Well, I'm saying it. I'm saying it.
'Oh, Angelica, you're getting rather violent?' No. We're just tired of you constantly pushing anti-God, anti-Catholic and pagan ways into the Catholic Church.
In spite of what I've said, I love you and I feel sorry, very sorry, that it has to be like this, but it has to be.

In the above transcript, key phrases stood out to us, including: "This was deliberate", "No, this is not an accident", "You've hidden your agenda". Mother Angelica's words reveal that she knows that there is indeed a group within the Catholic Church which has an agenda of changing the Catholic Faith and that this group has been most active post-Vatican II.

Should read “enneagrams,” not “anagrams”. :-)

In reading the book by Arroryo about her, this was the habit she first chose as described by him. She later changed to the black with the wimple.

This is a great speech. Note, however, that Mother Angelica attacked liberals, but never broke with the Church, Vatican II, Popes John Paul II, or Benedict. Nor did she ever attach herself to unapproved mystics or visionaries.

How could anyone break with Vatican II? What new dogmas or doctrine did it bind us to?

As a reminder, she broadcast this in 1993. Long before any thought of Benedict XVI.

Although that is a good article, the actual website hosting this is put together by a complete nutjob. It promotes Maria Divine Mercy and ferments hate against Pope Francis.

I remember a little while back, when I found a very good article from Mark Shea(most articles from him put me off or worse) and posted it....you gave me an earful...I never stated it then but I feel the same way about Mark Shea as you do, but he is still firmly within the church’s good graces and published in the National Catholic Register. Morevoer and for God’s sake, if I cant post from the National Catholic Register, from one of their regular contributors ...well then your sitting on a pretty high horse!

To the contrary, this wildvoice.org website is hideous and evil.

I agree. But, sadly, that is the source of the video.

“Even a broken clock...”

my point is that you handed me an earful of grief, sat on a high horse, and that supposed lesson you were trying to pass on to me is totally ignored by yourself.

Just trying to make a point!
afterall you gave me grief over it!

I disagree with your views on the website. The articles limit themselves to speaking the simple truth. No one should judge another by calling him/her “a nut job”, especially when we all belong to the same faith.
The WILD VOICE is one of the sites I regularly go to because it is among the very few true Catholic voices screaming the truth from the wilderness.

Thank you for posting this article. What a great reminded for us Catholics to pick up our armor and fight against the destructive effects of the deterioration due to the infiltrators that started entering the Catholic Church long ago. Unfortunately, Cardinal Mahony ended up hating this speech and punished her into making a public apology to which she complied in a not-very sincere way (and to my opinion, rightly so).
Later, EWTN will be stolen from her and invaded by the “neo-Catholics” that has turned the network into a pseudo-Protestant televangelism channel for the lukewarm.

I remember loving this article from The Wild Voice, and since then I never stopped following what the website has to offer (its provocative content is very similar to the misunderstood Christ of both 2,000 years ago and today).

Go on believeing Mary Carberry(Maria Divine Mercy) and keep preparing to dump the Pope. Maria Divine Mercy has been denounced by her Bishop, many other Bishops and across the Catholic Blogosphere as a false prophet. She writes false stuff, stuff that doesnt come true, edits her failed prophecies, writes things in contradiction to the faith etc, etc.

I’m guessing thats your website the Wild Voice.
So you would be the nutjob?

Maria Divine Mercy was denounced by a heretical liberal “bishop” who did not oppose in any way whatsoever the recently passed legalization of gay marriage in Ireland. Additionally, he supported gay civil unions as long as done outside the Catholic Church.
Very well: that is like saying “it’s okay to be sodomites as long as you do it in your homes”.

And this heretic would have any saying in regards to the Book of Truth, which has prophesied every single event of the FALSE PROPHET - “pope” Francis?

Sorry, but I look at facts. And everyone knows, now, that Freemason Jorge Mario Bergoglio is an impostor, a heretic and a destroyer.
