Coexist with Islam? Is Cardinal Koch Smoking Crack?

I came across a story on PewSitter today that linked to a translated interview that Kurt Cardinal Koch, President of the Pontifical Council for Promoting Christian Unity, gave to Swiss Television (SRF). In his interview the Cardinal said a number of hopeful things about Islam versus the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria/and the Levant (ISIS/ISIL). He stated that “ISIS is a cruel perversion of religion,” and despite that fact that Christians are being persecuted more today than they were in the first two centuries, he believes that that day will come when the fundamental right of religious freedom will be respected and people of different religions will learn to live with each other.

Neither one of those things are true! ISIS is not a perversion of Islam; rather, it is the fulfillment of the Islamic dream of its founder. ISIS is to the prophet Muhammad what the fulfillment of his “I Have a Dream” speech was to Martin Luther King Jr. What is Cardinal Koch talking about when he says we can coexist with Islam? The Qur’an doesn’t suggest coexistence as an option! Here is just a TINY sample of what the Islamic religious text says about being intolerant towards other religions, especially Christianity:

“Indeed, those who disbelieve – it is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them – they will not believe. Allah has set a seal upon their hearts and upon their hearing, and over their vision is a veil. And for them is a great punishment” Surat Al-Baqarah 2:6-7.

That’s called acceptance of one’s Dhimmitude.

“he believes that that day will come when the fundamental right of religious freedom will be respected and people of different religions will learn to live with each other”

Huh??? There is no “fundamental right” of religious freedom. That right has to be won, as occurred in the American revolution and Constitution. This dude is engaging in some of the “adolescent idealism” that Dr. Krauthamer has spoken of.

Judgement begins at the pulpit.

(Ya know...false “teachers”...we, unfortunately, are surrounded by them.)

Like so many others, the Cardinal has chosen political correctness over reality.

I would be less worried about Muslim persecution in the west than about that about to come from the left via homosexuality and gay marriage. They on a mission to marginalize Christianity and then make it illegal to speak out against sodomy. It will not be too long and it will be a criminal offense (in some places in the West it already is). The left are well aided by the feel good, PC, tolerance Christianity of our day but also by those of us who behave like we have no opinion.

I guess that’s why 92% of Saudis approve of ISIS.

And 16% of the population of... France does as well.
Wonder what religion that 16% might be? Hmmm....

Liberals are liberals first and last. After 1300 years of barbarism it’s time to come to grips the ISLAM will not permit itself to peacefully coexist.

In other words, get ready to “lock and load.”

Another one of the Koch brothers? Who would have thought one would be a cardinal in Switzerland?

It’s the chipping away of freedoms because of the ‘rights’ that everyone thinks they have and are only too willing to force on others. The left is like Islam, freedom does not matter to it except to the extent that it allows it to operate and do the things it wants to do. It seems to me that freedoms Americans once enjoy are being removed from them by your judicial system working in concert with the left. It seems like a reset is almost in order. The trouble is recognizing the trigger i.e. when enough is enough and then having enough people who agree!
