Pray For the Peace of Jerusalem

The leopard is exotic, sleek, ferocious, and deadly. Its beauty is deceiving, for its beautiful coat and handsome face belie its cruelty and viciousness.

Since the Seventh Century, Civilization has been harassed by a ferocious "leopard". Even our own "Marine Hymn" contains a reference to this enemy. Shakespeare's plays talk about it, and most of the legendary battles of Medieval Europe concerned the "leopard's" incursion into Western Civilization.

The last 100 years has seen a resurgence of this ancient enemy, and the Leopard shows no sign of changing his spots. Barbarism unlike anything our generation has ever seen is being displayed on the media daily, yet nobody seems to care.

We battle not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces that are EXTREME. Yet, Greater is He Who dwells in us than he who is in the world. As we pray today, Please remember the Christians and Jews of the Middle East, the "People of the Book" who are being slaughtered all day long. The leopard can not change his spots, but, of course, individuals CAN be redeemed! Pray also that people will see the evil in their midst and be delivered from this plague.

I will tag this Thread with the Arabic Symbol for "Nazarene" to keep reminding me to Pray For the Persecuted Believers who are trapped in Muslim Lands.

Mankind is like the Tiger. Proud, strong, deadly, not realizing they are in need of God's grace. We live in and are surrounded by a world full of wonders, and miraculous occurrences. Still we “... whatever is right in our own minds....” Like Jobe and Paul most seem to do whatever is right in their own minds. Still the same problem as in the garden of Eden. We pray in particular on behalf of our brothers and sisters in Syria, Iraq, Egypt, Libya and throughout the Mideast. The members of the oldest of our Christian Communities, some of which date from the days of the Apostles, suffer under cruel, merciless and unrelenting persecution. They are Orthodox and Catholic, Protestant and Evangelical, Coptic, Pentecostal, and Baptist. To the persecutors, we are all "Nazarenes."
