Pray for our American Heroes and Nation

Glory to God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. We worship You and thank You that we can bring our petitions to You. In so doing, we acknowledge that we need You and we trust in Your love for us to answer us. There is no one like our God.

We pray today for all the prayer warriors around the world who are praying for our beloved troops and for our Nation. Strengthen and encourage them so that they will not become weary in well doing. We know that You answer and that “The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].”

We ask You, Sir, for enough prayer warriors to accomplish Your good and perfect will for our Nation. We will not walk by what we see, but by our confidence in Your goodness.

We agree with the Presidential Prayer Team as they pray, “ABBA Father, We lift up our Military Forces around the World, in Eastern Europe and Afghanistan. Father, be a Shield and Fortress round about them. Draw them close to You in every way as they do their duties and assignments wherever they are deployed. American needs You Father. The Nations look to America for support in many different ways. We look to You as the Source of all our support. Give Wisdom to our Military Leaders, Our Commander in Chief, and all those who have to make decisions that they be wise decisions firmly rooted in Your revelations. We praise Your Holy Name.

Sorry this is so long. I just felt I was to share it.

Thank you Father for the continued blessings we are certainly undeserving of. Forgive us for our complacency and looking to ourselves, our government and politics to solve our problems, when we should trust you alone. Thank you that we live in a nation where we can influence change. Help us to choose our battles wisely.

We know that you can turn the hearts of leaders any way you please. We thank you that you changed Obamas heart so he would help our Christian brothers and sisters and their children, being murdered in unspeakable ways, if they don't deny you. Please protect all the innocent people and stop the evil that is spreading across Iraq, the Middle East and the entire world.

May we return to our forefathers commitment of fervent repentance, prayer, and the study of Your word. Help us to know you better, learn your wisdom and understanding and find peace and hope in Your Word.

We pray that you select a godly person, ordained by you, to lead this nation as president. Give that person the wisdom of Solomon, the patience of Job, the fearless passion of Paul to speak the truth, and a great love for the people of this country. May that person inspire people to be the best Christian nation we can be and verbally reclaim You as our nations God, just as our founders did. We pray our leaders choose people of integrity and skill to fill every part of government.

Heal our nations from scars that some are trying to inflame. May people grow weary of politicians who divide us rather than unite us for political purposes. Ps 11:3 says: “If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?” We pray for the dividing to stop that the healing begins.

Father, we see evidence of leaders of this nation who want to cause harm to your people, all people. Stop those who are changing Your just laws and putting sinful laws in place. Help us to reverse the evil that has occurred, not just in the past 6 years, but in this century. May you will be done in our nation and in this world.

Thank you that you hear the prayers of people who deserve judgment rather than salvation. May Your Holy Name be praised in this nation and throughout the world.

Amen.

Now, the word is very near you; it is in your mouth and in your heart so you may obey it. See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. IN THE COLDEST and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered his prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting Glory, and bestowed His Manifold Blessings upon the new Nation.

FROM THE BRAVE, albeit weary, ill-equipped, and untrained volunteers who marched into Valley Forge on 19 December 1777 arose, with the help of some gallant friends from across the waves, the cohesive fighting force that became the United States Army, global defender of Freedom and scourge of Tyrants.

AS GENERAL WASHINGTON lifted his prayers on high in that bleak Winter, let our prayers now rise like a fountain for our Heroes in the American Armed Forces who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and gather them in the shelter of Your Healing Wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission.
