This is my favorite Proverb, because it reminds me that it's not about material things I receive, but instead it's about the spiritual things, and that which I store up in heaven, as Christ preached in His Sermon on the Mount,
"Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal; 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matthew 6:19-21
He has always given me what I need, and sometimes He even gives me something extra. When we pray, we should all remember that it is, "
Thy will be done", not my will be done.
07 Two things I request of You
00 (Deprive me not before I die):
08 Remove falsehood and lies far from me;
00 Give me neither poverty nor riches--
00 Feed me with the food allotted to me;
09 Lest I be full and deny You,
00 And say, "Who is the LORD?"
00 Or lest I be poor and steal,
00 And profane the name of my God.
