Frank Schaffer is a member of the Hollyweird elite (writer and director) and is close to being a case study in parent-child reaction. As the son of Francis Schaeffer (30 January 1912 – 15 May 1984), an American Evangelical Christian theologian, philosopher, and Presbyterian pastor, this son is now a Greek Orthodox convert. In 2007, Frank Schaeffer published an autobiography, Crazy for God: How I Grew Up As One of the Elect, Helped Found the Religious Right and Lived to Take All (or Almost All) of It Back.

I will add his father Francis Schaeffer Sr. was probably the best Christian apologist of the 20th century warning us modernism would progress to what we call 'post modern' today. He was at the vanguard of Christian apologetics before many others jumped on his bandwagon. Read most of his works. All focused on answering the skeptic and atheist. Not taking swings at various denominations of Christianity. He focused on the intellectual/academia scholarly atheist type. Focused on presenting the Gospel to them in "their language" and taking them to task in debates and seminars. He would even invite atheist scholars to his L'Abri retreat.
