Presbyterian Church approves same-sex marriage
Catholic Culture ^ | June 20, 2014

The General Assembly of the Presbyterian Church (USA), one of the United States’ leading Protestant denominations, has voted to allow its pastors to perform “any such marriage they believe the Holy Spirit calls then to perform, where legal by state law.”

The motion, which passed by a 61%-39% margin, takes effect immediately.

By a 71%-29% margin, the assembly also recommended that the church’s Book of Order be amended to describe marriage as a “unique commitment between two people, traditionally a man and a woman.” This change will go into effect when it approved by the majority of the church’s presbyteries.

Sad. Satan has his temporary victories.

In the end, God wins and all is made right.

(yes, 2,000 years ago Jesus Christ won on the cross, when he said, “It is finished”.... We are now living in the Church Age where by God’s grace he is saving more people before the second coming of Christ, when Christ comes to claim his victory)

There is a bigger problem here, and that is the approval by so many of the notion of “truth by consensus”. The postmodern progressives fully believe that what is true is what you can convince others is true. The idea that there may be universal truths is alien to them. The idea that if everyone is doing it and saying it, it must be true. My view is that whatever benefits and allows humanity to prosper and continue, is true, and that which, if everyone does it humanity would suffer or perish, is false. But there is no doubt that the progs have reached the consensus they’ve been clamoring for and as a result, we are all in big trouble. They go on and on about gay rights, global warming, income inequality, etc. while they will be the first people to be beheaded if the Muslims succeed in establishing their world dominion. All I can say is, “Lord, help us.” The mainstream demoninations get picked off, one by one. Quo Vadis, Catholics, Baptists?

Here’s what I got online from the ‘Layman’ as to what Presbyterians should do about the General Assembly redefining marriage as opposed to God’s definition:

Sounds just like Pope Francis and his right-hand "theologian", Kasper, regarding adulterers receiving Holy Communion.

I wonder what they have up their sleeves for next year?

Wrong. Nowhere does the Bible say that we should support the modern nation state of Israel. While I tend to support them for political reasons, religiously they are just like every other nation on the planet.

Three questions: 1) Does legal make it Scriptural or morally right? Slavery was once legal in this country. 2) Why would the Holy Spirit call a minister to violate the Scriptures He inspired? Lastly, 3) Why limit marriage as a commitment between just two people? Because of the Biblical
precedent set by God’s Word with Adam and Eve—”two shall be one”? Well then, why not stand for marriage as being between one man and one woman?
