For our selfless and brave military men and women we confess that You alone are their defense. You are their Rock and Salvation! Despite what the enemies of their bodies or their souls may attempt, You are well able to deliver each one out of the enemies hands. This is what we seek for them from You today.
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. (John 14:27)
Thank You, Jesus, for leaving them Your peace. Matthew Henry said about John 14:27: "When Christ was about to leave the world He made His will. His soul He committed to His Father; His body He bequeathed to Joseph to be decently interred; His clothes fell to the soldiers; His mother He left to the care of John: but what should He leave to His poor disciples that had left all for Him? Silver and gold He had none; but He left them that which was infinitely better -- His peace." For those struggling with a lack of peace, send Your Holy Spirit to teach them from where true peace comes.
We love You and we love them. We know that You alone are our answer and we trust You for our heroes and for our Nation. We do this in confidence in the name of Jesus. Amen.
Please join me today in trusting God for our military men and women and for our Nation.
Read: Numbers 6:22-27
A recent study that I read concluded that smiling can be good for your health. Research shows that smiling slows down the heart and reduces stress.
But smiling isnt just good for you; a genuine smile blesses those on the receiving end as well. Without saying a word, it can tell others that you like them and that you are pleased with them. A smile can hug someone with love without giving them even the slightest touch.
Life does not always give us a reason to smile. But when we see a heartfelt smile on a childs face or through aged wrinkles, our hearts are encouraged.
Smiles are also a hint of the image of God in us. In the ancient blessing recorded in the book of Numbers we get an indication that God smiles: The Lord make His face shine upon you, and be gracious to you; the Lord lift up His countenance upon you, and give you peace (Num. 6:25-26). Those words are a Hebrew idiom for the favor of God on a persons life, asking God to smile on His children.
So today, remember that you are loved by God, and that He is pleased to be gracious to you and to shine His face upon you.

It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. Psalm 118:8
Lifting up our nation in prayer - that we may trust in God, not our government. Prayers for our heroes who fight the enemy on many fronts.
