I was an elder in a PCUSA church at one point.

We actually had a church leaders meeting to determine the churches stance on abortion, gay marriage, and homosexuals in leadership positions.

An active duty Air Force officer who was also serving indicated he couldn’t vote for either because it conflicted with his military duty. Another was concerned it would conflict with her YMCA position.

I tried pushing them back but ended up leaving when they chose to cushion wooden pews instead of buying bibles for children.

The “ leadership” of any organization , most especially churches and synagogues where we expect otherwise, can be very disappointing. In the case of this church, some have taken power to advance a patently anti-Christian false gospel. It’s no wonder so many parishioners have been leaving it. There are, after all, still churches which endeavor sincerely to maintain a true Biblical faith message (denominational distinctives aside). If this satanic “in crowd” problem was brand new, I’d suggest good church members stay and fight. But since this church has had this problem for a number of years already and hasn’t succeeded in expelling Lucifer’s agents yet. I have to say that I would leave And join a church that is at least recognizably Christian in its core message and practices.
