I saw the Holy Father’s address live on EWTN overnight. It was short but moving. It connected the Nazis’ murder of the Jews to Genesis 3 where man reached and tried to become God. I jotted down a bit.
“Adam, where are you? ... Who led you to presume that you are the master of good and evil? Who led you to believe that you are God? ...Who corrupted you? ... this massive idolatry(the Holocaust) ... having despised our own flesh”
As for the first two responses to Biggirl: I can assure you that Francis’ trip to the HolyLand is not a joke and is being watched closely by many.
I get tired of how we conservatives are manipulated and taught to be simpleminded. If the excesses of capitalism are criticized, one is called a Communist. If one dare criticize Israel, one is accused to being allied with Palestinian murderers. Israel has a right to live in peace and security, but the Palestinians have a right to live in dignity. Neither side is without sin. The Palestinians do start trouble at times, but the response of Israel at times is heavy handed and excessive.
