I certainly wouldn’t attend such an event.

There are two things that we must do: communicate our genuine love for those involved and our resolute commitment to honor Christ and his Word in every circumstance Let’s start with the latter.

He started with the latter and ended with the latter. I never found where he dealt with the first thing he said we must do.

No, “many of us” are NOT being invited to any of this nonsense.

Note to author: theological discussions don’t change people’s minds. Who are you writing the article for; your readers or yourself?

The question reminds me of something from long ago. Mid 1980s sometime, new guy in church. Newly arrived in town, he was an art professor at the university.

He recounted being invited to, and going to, a co-worker's wedding. Ooops. Turned out to be a Wiccan ceremony. I don't remember much of anything from his recounting, except I think ceremonial knives were involved.

There are 3 kinds of people in this world.

1. Those that already know the right thing to do. (This article confirms it for them)
2. Those that are going to do what they want to do anyway. (They will read this and say the author is intolerant.)
3. Those who are struggling and will respond to a defense of Scriptural standards. (This will help them to decide on the right thing to do.)

theological discussions don’t change people’s minds.

Seriously? Not all of us are that closed-minded.

You’ve Been Invited To A Catholic Mass. Should You Go? Yes, come with me and I will point out all the different things happening to you. On your original question -- No, I would not validate an un-holy thing through my attendance.

Most Christians will not be invited to such things because their lives will reflect strong virtues of goodness, etc. However, if they are invited they will ask God for His guidance about what to do.

I do not believe it is possible to show your love to a homosexual who is getting married to another homosexual while politely declining the invitational and not sending a gift.

But to be honest with you, I cannot think of a homosexual that would ever invite me to anything other than my own crucifixion.

This question was posed to Dennis Prager the other day by a listener. He advised to skip the wedding and go to the reception. Can’t say I agree.
